From Hello to Melo

They met in the most unexpected way in 2017 at a funeral. Hector was speaking, but Arijana wasn’t really hearing the words. She was lost in her thoughts thinking, that’s my husband. Something about him just felt right. Not long after, they went on their first date. There was no awkwardness, no performance, just a calm sense of knowing. They laughed, talked for hours, and left that night with the feeling that this was the start of something real. Since then, they’ve built a life full of love, loyalty, and laughter. From raising their golden retriever, Roman, to traveling, growing, and enjoying all the little things together. Their life feels like home. In the summer of 2024, Hector proposed by the sea in Rovinj. Something about proposing in Croatia felt full circle. It brought everything together in a quiet, perfect way. They are each other’s safe place, best friend, and greatest love. And now, they’re so excited to begin this next chapter, hand in hand as husband and wife. They can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of their greatest adventure with all of you!

Flying into Split Airport (SPU) is recommended. The drive from Split Airport to Hotel Amphora is about 25 minutes. You can take an Uber from the airport to the hotel. United Airlines offers direct flights from EWR to SPU 3 days a week.

Dubrovnik Airport

If you are flying into Dubrovnik (DBV), the drive from Dubrovnik Airport to Hotel Amphora is about 3 hours. For a private transfer, reach out to BLKN Escapes listed below or schedule a transfer with Uber in advance. United Airlines offers direct flights from EWR to DBV.

She’s been a wonderful mom, always doing her best to make sure Arijana and her sister are safe and happy. She’s been a huge help with the wedding planning particularly in connecting with our Croatian family. She’s beyond excited for the wedding and can’t wait to celebrate our marriage!

Over the years, she’s created countless memories with her loved ones, and we’re grateful to have her be part of this special moment in our lives.

Hector Sr. is a genuinely kind and funny man who knows how to bring people together with his warm spirit and infectious humor. He is great at making everyone feel included and important and has made Arijana feel like part of the family from day one. He founded a family business decades ago, and now he and Hector Jr. work side by side, sharing a strong bond as business partners and family men. We’re so lucky to have him as part of our journey.

Selma is Arijana’s older and much smaller sister, and her one and only sibling. Selma has been a constant source of support, pride, and genuine hype throughout Arijana and Hector’s relationship. She shares a sweet bond with their dog Roman and is the kind of Maid of Honor who shows up fully. A true ride-or-die who Arijana wouldn’t trade for the world. Selma’s presence has been a steady reminder of family and love and her unwavering dedication makes this day even more special.

Jennifer is Hector’s sister and her bubbly personality and positive outlook light up every room she enters. She’s been a constant source of kindness and encouragement throughout this journey. She’s celebrated every step with us, from the first spark to the engagement and now the big day. Jennifer’s unwavering support and infectious laughter have made even the toughest moments easier, and we feel so lucky to have her.

Throughout this journey, Thanh’s genuine friendship and thoughtful support have meant the world to us. She’s been there to offer encouragement during the busy moments and share in all the excitement leading up to the big day. We’re so grateful to have her by our side on the big day and beyond!

Antonela is Arijana’s cousin from her mom’s side and a cherished part of our family, even from across the ocean in Germany. Though she’ll be just 12 on our wedding day, her spunky spirit and sweet heart make her presence truly special. Including Antonela as our junior bridesmaid means the world to us and is a heartfelt way to celebrate those family bonds that hold us close, no matter where life takes us. We are so proud to have her standing with us as we begin this new chapter together.

Sandeep and Hector go way back to middle school, when Hector welcomed him into the crew and a lifelong friendship was born. Over the years, their bond has only grown stronger. They’re not just friends, they are now business partners, building something meaningful together. Sandeep is someone who leads with quiet strength and thoughtfulness and is one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. Having him stand by our side as best man is not only an honor, but a reflection of the deep friendship that has stood the test of time.

Andreas has been friends with Hector since high school. A talented drummer and laid-back property guy, Andreas brings the perfect mix of chill vibes and positive energy wherever he goes. He has a voice that could fill a stadium and is always ready to turn up the fun. He’s the kind of friend who makes people feel instantly welcome and knows how to keep the good times going. Easy to fit in with any group and guaranteed to bring extra life to the party, we’re thrilled to have him standing with us on such an important day.

Khush has been part of Hector’s circle since elementary school. Known for his flashy wardrobe, Khush is impossible to miss in any room. When he’s not making a fashion statement, he’s volunteering as a firefighter and diving into politics, proving there’s more to him than just the sharp suits. Definitely a longtime friend we’re glad to have by our side.

Phil met Hector at the gym, and what started as workout buddies quickly grew into a solid friendship. Now they’re hitting the shooting range together and hanging out as part of the whole crew. He’s always up for a good laugh and is the kind of friend who shows up without needing to be asked. A genuinely great guy, Phil has become an important part of our circle, and we’re so happy to have him standing with us on the big day.

Matthew is Hector’s cousin and our trusted ring bearer. At 11 years old, he’s a kind-hearted kid who’s great with Roman so we know our little fur baby is in good hands. He’s an avid soccer player and a wonderful big brother to his two little sisters, always ready to step up and show his caring side. We’re so happy to have him be part of our special day.

Matthew

Melina is Matthew’s sister and our spirited flower girl. She’s bursting with energy, bubbling over with friendliness, and somehow manages to get along with absolutely everyone she meets. As the middle child, she’s mastered the art of being the life of the party as she's always ready with a smile and a contagious excitement that lights up the room. We can’t wait to have her shining bright on our special day!

The only sandy beach in Split. Fun, youthful, and energetic, it’s great for swimming, sunbathing, and playing picigin, a traditional Croatian ball game. Bustling in the afternoons and into the night.
